Dan Straneiro


With over a decade of academic and professional experience in theoretical and applied mathematics, Dan is a passionate instructor who believes that anyone can learn to think mathematically. Dan earned his undergraduate degrees in mathematics and statistics from Rutgers University, where he served as president of the Rutgers University chapter of the Mathematical Association of America (MAARU). He went on to earn his graduate degree in actuarial science from Columbia University, where he also served as a graduate teaching assistant for coursework on the mathematics of contingent risk. Today, Dan enjoys working as a professor and tutor of mathematics, emphasizing logical and quantitative reasoning over memorization and repetition to help students achieve true understanding.
