not needed ever in this course) esp. 3.6 and 3.7 on
implicitly defined functions and implicit differentiation.
Also: 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.5, about optimizing.
Not needed for this homework, but start reading it: chapter 5 (all of
it) about integration.
