Prerequisites: Mathematics placement or a grade of C or better in Math 45
Important Notes:
TUTORING
Free one-on-one tutoring is available at the Mathematics and
Science Resource Center (MSRC) located in room 18 of Curtis Hall (in the
basement). The tutoring schedule is posted in room 18. A few copies of
the Student's Solution Manual are available at the MSRC and also at the
Mathematics Library (on the 4th floor of Wachman Hall). If you can't do
a problem, or if your answer does not match the one in the book, then the
Solution Manual is a good place to look for the correct solution.
TESTS
There are four tests and a comprehensive final. All questions on the
final are based on the homework. On tests, all work must be shown; you
will not get credit for an answer, even if it's correct, without
showing your work. There are no re-tests in Math 73.
FINAL
Math 73 has a comprehensive uniform final, given on Tuesday,
December 14, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Room assignments for the final will
be announced later.
"Computer Tutor"
A few copies of the text with a Computer Tutor (for Windows) are available
in the bookstore. If you have access to a computer, you may want to buy this
version of the text. Computer tutor has a large number of computer generated
practice problems. Computer tutor has been installed on computers in the
basement of Wachman Hall and also in the Science Resource Center (13 Curtis
Hall). To access Computer Tutor at Wachman Hall, click on HM Math 1996 and
then follow the instructions on the screen. If you have trouble using the
program, someone at the help desk will help you. You should take advangtage of
these computer facilities to practice problems.
