Multichannel sampling and the third generation
undersampling problem in fan-beam tomography
Steve Izen
Abstract:
After a brief introduction to sampling on lattices, the theory of multichannel
sampling will be developed. The sampling requirements for parallel and fan-beam
tomography will be
described. The undersampling inherent when a third generation
detector is used to acquire data will be
introduced. Multichannel sampling on lattices will be applied to
in the context of fan-beam geometry to correct for the undersampling,
allowing reconstruction at the full bandwidth consistent with the
hardware.
