The Extra Credit Homework

Due on the Final Exam day, December 19, 2000, at 2:00 pm .

Write an essay with the title: "What are derivatives and what are they good for".
The length is not important. What is important is that you explain in plain English what you understood about derivatives, which are the essence of Calculus, in one semester of Math 66. No other gudelines, except that you should treat this seriously. You can get as much as 10 extra points for a very good essay (10% of the final grade).
