How to access remote computers
Our departmental servers all run ssh (secure-shell) and sftp (secure-ftp), allowing secure access to a shell or to your files on them.
For this, you'll need either ssh client software or sftp client software on your local computer; these are freely available on the web. Since the vast majority of users only need access to their files, as opposed to access to a shell, we discuss here only choices for sftp software.
There are two choices, depending on your computer's OS. For access to your files, use WebDrive (Windows) or Macfusion (Macintosh).
Once you have the appropriate client software installed, you'll need your TUMail username/password to connect to the server. Once connected, you can modify/transfer files/folders on the remote computer as if they were local file/folders.
If you need to upload/download a file to/from euclid using only a browser (for example from a computer that does not have any of the above programs installed), the Upload/Download Web Page is useful.
